Matt Lortie

Matthew "Matt" Lortie

Secretary-Treasurer

Matthew "Matt" Lortie is running for the position of Secretary-Treasurer, bringing with him 30 years of experience as a Teamster at the Manchester Facility. A lifelong resident of New Hampshire, Matt has been married to his wife, Dorene, for 28 years, and they have three sons, with his oldest being a Teamster for 10 years at UPS.

Matt has been a proud Teamster since 1995 when he started his career at UPS as a part-time employee. He became a full-time driver in 1999, was duly elected as Steward in Manchester in 2014, and was elected as a Trustee of Local 633 in 2021. His family has a strong Teamster legacy, with his father being a Teamster at Associated Grocers of NH, his father-in-law a 31-year Teamster and Steward at UPS, and his great uncle serving as a Business Agent at Local 633.

Matt has been actively involved in many local and national political campaigns since 2016. He has also mentored new drivers in the Manchester facility and helped raise money for various charities. Additionally, he founded and operated a successful competitive youth soccer nonprofit organization in Manchester.

Matt is committed to bringing the change necessary to hold all employers accountable to the members. He believes that only through unity can this goal be achieved. With your support, he aims to return the power to the people and ensure that the union works effectively for its members.

Jim Marchand

James "Jim" Marchand

President

James "Jim" Marchand is a first-generation Teamster who has always aspired to work as a truck driver. In 2006, he left his 11-year job as a delivery driver at A.H. Notini & Sons in Lowell, MA, to pursue his dream. He enrolled in NETTS in Andover, MA, to obtain his CDL A license. Upon receiving his license, Jim began applying for jobs and, in July 2006, received an offer from UPS Freight in Londonderry, NH, as a local pickup and delivery driver. He was officially hired in August 2006 and played a role in endorsing the first-ever Teamster Contract at UPS Freight, which was ratified in July 2008. Since joining the Teamsters Union, Jim has been an active member, supporting various stewards over the years and attending monthly union meetings. He has also worked with Local 633 to defeat the Right to Work bill.

In December 2018, when Steward Roger Martineau retired, Jim reached out to his business agent, Kevin Foley, to express his intention to run for Shop Steward. He was duly elected and has spent many years working closely with Kevin and the union. Jim is well-versed in the grievance and panel process and has co-presented and won numerous precedent-setting arbitration cases, resulting in significant payouts for members. He has been a key witness in many transformative cases during his tenure as a steward for UPS Freight and T-Force Freight.

Jim believes that Local 633 needs to move in a new direction where members feel supported and empowered by their union leaders when dealing with employers. He emphasizes the importance of member involvement for the success of the Local and criticizes the current administration for failing to represent its members adequately. Jim advocates for a responsive and proactive union, ensuring that no member feels abandoned. He pledges to represent the membership of Local 633 with honesty, integrity, and transparency.

Jim has been happily married to his wife, Christina, for 25 years. They have three children: Tyler (24), Trevor (21), and Megan (15). Tyler and Trevor are active Local 633 members working as delivery drivers at Bimbo Bakeries in Wilmington, MA. Jim enjoys cooking and BBQing for his family and friends, and he has a passion for automotive activities, including racing, car shows, and working on his 1986 Mercury Capri. Family is a significant part of his life, and he cherishes spending his free time with his wife and children.

Bob Stanley

Robert "Bob" Stanley

Vice-President

Robert "Bob" Stanley has been a dedicated UPS driver since 2000. Starting his career in the Nashua building, he bid into the Manchester facility in 2006 to be closer to home and to have more time to coach his three sons' football teams. In 2011, he relocated to the Lakes Region and subsequently bid into the Laconia building in 2012, further reducing his commute and allowing for more family time.

In 2018, Bob was elected as the alternate steward for the Laconia building, a position he continues to hold at the new Northfield facility. His tenure as an alternate steward has highlighted the need for stronger representation of 633 members. Bob has observed a disconnect in the chain of command, with the current slate often falling short in member representation. He notes that they appear more accommodating to management, settling grievances for less than members deserve or not settling them at all. This lack of effective representation is why Bob has decided to join the 633 Teamsters Power Slate campaign.

As a father of six, Bob values the benefits and pay that his job at UPS has provided, ensuring good medical and dental care for his family and the financial means to support them. He is committed to ensuring that all members continue to receive the benefits and pay they deserve.

Bob believes that all members deserve equal representation. He prioritizes assisting the current acting steward in keeping members informed of their rights and responsibilities as active union members. He has thoroughly familiarized himself with all contracts and actively encourages other members to do the same, believing that knowledge is power.

If elected as VP, Bob pledges to continue fighting for the rights of each member and to work productively with other slate members to keep the union running efficiently. He is committed to ensuring that no member is left behind and that the union effectively represents and supports all its members.

Jeff Moore

Jeffrey "Jeff" Moore

Recording Secretary

Jeff Moore was born and raised in Somerville, MA, and graduated in 1988. In 1989, Jeff joined the United States Marine Corps, where he served as an Amphibious Assault Vehicle Crew Chief.

A proud veteran, Jeff served his country with honor and distinction during Operation Desert Shield / Desert Storm. He dedicated 10 years to the United States Marine Corps before transitioning to civilian life.

After his military service, Jeff resided in Wilmington, NC, but in 2016, he returned to Somerville and began working at UPS in Watertown, where he served as a driver under Teamsters Local 25. In 2018, Jeff transferred to UPS Freight in Londonderry, NH.

It was at UPS Freight that Jeff joined Teamsters Local 633, thanks to Shop Steward Jim Marchand, who signed up three clerks, including Jeff, as part of BA Kevin Foley's organizing card check clerk drive. Jeff is proud to be a Teamster and is currently an OS&D Clerk at TForce Freight in Londonderry, NH.

Now residing in Manchester, NH, Jeff has joined the 633 Teamsters Power Slate and is running for union office because he is committed to bringing integrity back to the Local Union.

Tony Dionne

Anthony "Tony" Dionne

Business Agent

Anthony "Tony" Dionne is a dedicated 25-year member of Teamster Local 633. He began his career with UPS in Keene, NH, in 1999 as a driver, consistently supporting his fellow drivers and volunteering his time. Tony has served as a duly elected driver Shop Steward at the UPS Keene facility and is now a full-time Shop Steward on the UPS Keene preload. His extensive experience in advocating for members and successfully challenging UPS management has equipped him with the skills necessary to represent his colleagues effectively.

In addition to his union work, Tony believes in giving back to the community. He founded and led a nonprofit organization for youth basketball, AAU, from 2018 to 2020. He also volunteered in the fight to defeat the "Right to Work for Less" legislation in New Hampshire in 2021 and served as the secretary on the board of his nonprofit church.

Tony is running for Union Business Agent on the 633 Teamsters Power Slate because he believes that members need strong representation both in the office and at the arbitration and negotiation tables. He is committed to ensuring that elected representatives prioritize the members' interests over maintaining friendly relationships with management. Tony is critical of the current administration, which he believes is more interested in collecting dues than fighting for members' rights.

Tony has a proven track record of advocating for members' rights and is eager to continue this work with even greater intensity if elected. He promises to be a strong voice for members during negotiations, arbitrations, and in the office. Unlike some who may have been appointed due to family or friends, Tony has earned his position through hard work and dedication.

Tony assures members that they will receive timely responses and support, with no delays or unreturned calls. He pledges to provide a positive return on members' investment by being a reliable and effective representative who truly fights for their rights and interests.

Steven Gaines

Steven Gaines

Business Agent

Steven Gaines is running for the position of Business Agent for Local 633, bringing a deep commitment to hard work, dedication, and community. Raised in Seminole, FL, Steven learned these values early on. Family is the cornerstone of his life; he has been happily married to his wife, Kristina, since 2018, and together they have three amazing children who inspire him every day.

Steven began his career with UPS in 2018 and quickly advanced to a driving role at the Twin Mountain location in 2019. His commitment to his colleagues and passion for fair treatment in the workplace led him to become a steward in 2021. As a steward, Steven consistently stepped up to advocate for employees' rights and interests when they sought his assistance with contract and work issues.

Steven's decision to run for Business Agent stems from deep dissatisfaction with the current leadership's approach to handling member concerns. He is a proud member of the Power Slate, a coalition of UPS stewards and rank-and-file members dedicated to empowering the members of Local 633. The Power Slate's mission is to restore the union's influence and strength, ensuring that every member's voice is heard and respected.

Steven is committed to building a stronger, more responsive union that truly represents the needs and aspirations of its members. He pledges to be a Business Agent who listens, acts, and delivers for Local 633, ensuring that every member receives the support and representation they deserve.

Tim Merrill

Timothy "Tim" Merrill

Business Agent

Timothy Merrill is a dedicated Teamster with 31 years of experience. Married to his wife, Jennifer, for 26 years, they have two wonderful children, Tyler and Lauren.

Timothy has worked as a driver at the UPS MHT Gateway, UPS Keene facility, and UPS Manchester facility. He has served as both an Alternate Shop Steward and Shop Steward, actively fighting for members' rights daily. Timothy has also contributed to the Safety Committee and the Mentoring Committee, where he educates new drivers on the principles of being a good Teamster and an effective driver. His community involvement includes raising money for Meals on Wheels, volunteering with Liberty House for veterans, and participating in the Touch-A-Truck initiative.

Running on the 633 Teamsters Power Slate, comprised of rank-and-file Teamsters, Timothy believes it is time to elect genuine representation that fights for members' rights. Timothy advocates for strong representation at every workplace, at the bargaining table, and on the picket lines, aiming to unify and empower members.

Christian Ionescue

Cristian Ionescu

He graduated from NTTS in Pawtucket, RI, and earned his CDL in Massachusetts.

In 2004, Cristian began his career as a truck driver with Old Dominion. A year later, he joined Overnite/UPS Freight/TForce, becoming a first-generation union member. He has since worked between Local 633 and Local 25 and, for the past two years, has been with ABF Freight in Londonderry, NH.

Cristian and his wife made significant sacrifices in their pursuit of becoming naturalized citizens, a process that took nearly seven years. Their goal was to achieve freedom and prosperity, much like other first-generation immigrant families. Cristian is deeply thankful for the opportunities that have allowed them to become an integral part of American society. With over 1.5 million miles logged as a road driver, Cristian has extensive experience as both a dock worker and city driver. He understands the daily challenges faced by his fellow union members.

Cristian believes it is essential to remember who we are and why we are here. He emphasizes that union members do not work for the union; rather, they are the union. He is critical of what he perceives as the repeated failures of entitled union representatives and backdoor deals made at the expense of members.

Cristian is determined to empower members to take responsibility, stay the course, and improve everyone’s lives. He advocates for holding accountable anyone who interferes with the livelihoods of union members and their families. He believes that union members are responsible for their own fates.

A message to the members from Cristian:
"We are the forgotten, but no more. This is our time to shine. Stand together, and Godspeed."

As a first-generation union member, Rick is deeply honored to run for Trustee, and even more so as part of the Teamsters 633 Power Slate. He is committed to putting members' rights first, working diligently to ensure our brothers' and sisters' voices are heard, and providing the high-quality representation that our great members deserve.

Nate Lafleur

Nate LaFleur

Trustee

Nate just celebrated his 20th year at UPS. He worked the preload for 3 years before being promoted to a full time driver. He has worked out of both the Manchester and Nashua facilities. Being hired just before the recession of 2008 Nate endured 5 years of layoffs and has experienced a lot of what the company can throw at a union employee during those times.

Nate is a second generation union member as his father was a shop steward for the postal union for many years. He has been married to his wife Bethany for 5 years. Her late grandfather was a proud teamster working for St. Johnsbury trucking and Nate is proud to carry on her family’s legacy

Nate loves giving back to the community. He has helped raise money for a local non profit dog shelter, as well as participated in many touch a truck events, and a truck parade for a make a wish child.

During his time at UPS Nate has trained drivers both on road and in the classroom. He’s been a member of the safety committee, and about 10 years ago took charge of the mentoring program which he is most proud of. Under his leadership of the mentoring committee, the rate of accidents and injuries reduced significantly in the newer drivers, thus protecting many valuable union jobs.

Nate firmly believes it is time for a change within the current administration and is excited to work with the power slate to bring the power back to the members!
